9. 1987 - A Los Angeles judge throws out a lawsuit against Ozzy Osbourne. The lawsuit had been filed by the parents of a teenager who had committed suicide while listening to Ozzy's song, Suicide Solution

10. 1995 - British athlete Jonathan Edwards breaks the world triple-jump record at the World Athletic Championships in Gothenberg, with a jump of 18.29 metres

11. 2003 - Arnold Schwarzenegger announces that he will run for the office of Governor of California
