VIDEO: Ravel Morrison's brace v Sporting Lisbon

West Ham Upton Park

West Ham youngster Ravel Morrison, formerly of Manchester United, scored a brace earlier this week as the Hammers beat one of Portugal's top sides.

West Ham fans are busy quizzing their owner on Twitter as to potential summer signings, but their best new addition could be a player signed 18 months ago.

In that time Ravel Morrison has barely featured, spending last season on loan at Birmingham City.

Having rejoined the squad for pre-season, Morrison has looked like a man possessed, playing a prominent role in West Ham's matches so far.

His confidence was no more evident than on Monday night when the Hammers took on Sporting Lisbon in a friendly in Portugal.

After Kevin Nolan equalised a Diego Capel opener for the hosts, Morrison scored a brace via a shot from outside the box and a header.

It's a great sign for the Hammers that he is ready to fulfill his potential this season, and deserves an opportunity when the Premier League season begins.
