Arsenal latest: Including El Jadeyaoui, Suarez, and false hope on Brazilian

Luis Suarez Uruguay

All the latest Arsenal related news and gossip.

Arsenal have a new man in for a trial, in addition to Colombian midfielder Sebastian Perez. The player in question is Alharbi El Jadeyaoui, 26, who plays for French second division side Angers. Reports in France confirmed he is at Arsenal being assessed with a view to a move.

Meanwhile midfielder Omar Abdulrahman is looking unlikely to partake in a trial, after his Al Ain club president stated he was 'above' such an invitation.

Arsenal's pursuit of Luis Suarez has been made more complicated by the news the striker has injured a foot in training for Liverpool, and will now miss the club's friendly with Valerenga on Wednesday. While it may be viewed by some as convenient, similar to Wayne Rooney's 'injury' at Manchestr United, Liverpool announced on their website that the striker would 'undergo a scan' later today.

False hope has been created for Arsenal fans with regard to Bernard, by several misleading headlines created out of the fact he posted a photo of himself on a social networking site at a London hotel room. But as we explained last night, he is not visiting Arsenal, but stopping over en route to Ukraine to check out the facilities in Donetsk with a view to a move. However there is hope in that he confirmed he would not be undergoing a medical there, and if he is not impressed with his potential new home the Gunners may have another chance to steal in for his signature.

Arsenal are poised to lose out on the chance to sign Julio Cesar from QPR, after apparently abandoning their interest over the past 24 hours. Fiorentina are best place to sign him according to reports.

Bacary Sagna is said to be nearing signing a new contract at Arsenal, and says he believes he can adapt easily to a centre-back role when required. The Frenchman was trialed in position in pre-season after being used there as an emergency last season, and the option is expected to see Arsenal avoid signing a new centre-back this summer.

Fellow defender Nico Yennaris has said he is keen on a loan move to gain experience and 'hopes something comes up soon'. Over the weekend he was linked with a possible move to Leicester City.

And finally, now former chairman Peter Hill-Wood has given an exclusive interview to Arsenal's website, stating he believes the club is in safe hands with Sir Chips Keswick. He said due to the deterioration in his health there was 'no way' he could continue in the position.
