Assou-Ekotto or Coentrao for Tottenham? 2012/13 stats compared

Real Madrid Including Coentrao

Who would Tottenham Hotspur fans prefer at left-back next season?

The often outspoken Benoit Assou-Ekotto was linked with a move away from Spurs earlier this summer, but as it stands he is set to line up for the club in their opening game of the season in a fortnight's time.

There is one threat to that though, with rumours Real Madrid will attempt to trade in Fabio Coentrao in a deal for Gareth Bale.

Clearly Spurs want to hang onto the Welsh winger, but if they do decide to cash in, should they try to bring in Coentrao? Would it be an upgrade?
