Transfer talk: Featuring Dempsey, Rooney and Gervinho

Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Liverpool all feature.

Clint Dempsey has completed his move away from Tottenham Hotspur. The American was rumoured to be on the way out of the club this summer after Nacer Chadli was signed from FC Twente.

Now his exit has been confirmed after Tottenham Hotspur agreed a fee with Major League Soccer - believed to be around £6 million.

He will play for Seattle Sounders in the American North-West.

Andre Villas-Boas has vented his frustration with Real Madrid’s tactics in the pursuit of Gareth Bale. The Welshman has been made a public target of the Spanish outfit - with several of their players and director of football Zinedine Zidane continuing to talk up a move.

"These rumours of an imminent transfer are not true. The only thing we have communicated with Real Madrid is that he is our player and he is not for sale.’’

Wayne Rooney will reportedly hand in a transfer request this week. It is claimed he will let the Manchester United hierarchy know of his wish to move away for a new challenge this summer.

The Englishman has been linked with a move to Chelsea however United would rather sell him abroad.

Brendan Rodgers has been speaking about the valuation of Luis Suarez - suggesting he is worth just as much as Gareth Bale.

He was also predictably saying his talisman is not for sale once again.

Manchester United have quite sensationally been linked with Bastian Schweinsteiger today. It is reported that should the club miss out on Cesc Fabregas then the German international at Bayern Munich would be a new target … apparently.

The link suggesting Marouane Chamakh could be on his way to Premier League newbies Crystal Palace is gaining credence. An apparent six-month loan deal is in the pipeline however Arsene Wenger has stated differently.

Wenger confirmed the Moroccans imminent exit - meanwhile Gervinho is also set to depart. AS Roma will sign the Ivorian but Wenger says both departures are on permanent deals.
