With transfer rumours and gossip galore this morning revolving around the likes of Fabregas, Suarez, Bale Rooney and pretty much everyone who is anyone sometimes it is nice to take a break from it all.
So to do so I am casting back to this exact day, the 4th August 2013, but a year earlier.
What were the main transfer tales from that day? What big events were happening in Premier League football?
Here are some of the big scoops from the 4th August 2012…
12 months ago Manchester City first saw their name linked with the acquisition of Swansea City star Scott Sinclair.
Many discounted it at the time as a ridiculous rumour, but in the end The Mirror had the last laugh.
Sinclair became a City player on deadline day but started just three games in the entire season. A year later and he finds himself looking for an exit door from what has been a hellish time.
Now I don’t know about you but I am pretty sure that the Pole is still a Borussia Dortmund player who wishes he played for Bayern Munich - but what do we know hey?
But it does make sense when you delve into the deal - as it would have gone through THIS summer.
Somehow I don’t think that is currently on the agenda.
Joey Barton confirmed that he would not be signing a shock loan deal with Fleetwood Town. The players career at QPR had become untenable under the management of Mark Hughes and was also banned for 12 Premier League games after his violent conduct charge at the end of the 2011-12 season.
He had been training with The Cod Army as he is a good friend with one of the teams stars Andy Mangan.
In the end Barton went to Marseille for the year and recently made his QPR comeback - featuring against Sheffield Wednesday yesterday.
