With transfer rumours and gossip galore this morning revolving around the likes of Fabregas, Suarez, Bale Rooney and pretty much everyone who is anyone sometimes it is nice to take a break from it all.
So to do so I am casting back to this exact day, the 3rd August 2013, but a year earlier.
What were the main transfer tales from that day? What big events were happening in Premier League football?
Here are some of the big scoops from the 3rd August 2012…
A year ago Liverpool managed to rid themselves of potentially one of their worst ever buys. Alberto Aquillani joined The Reds from AS Roma in 2009 - with the view to having him as a replacement to Xabi Alonso.
However, the Italian was injured on arrival and went on to play just 28 games for the club - spending time on loan at Juventus and AC Milan in the process.
Signed for £17 million and then sold for more than half that price two years later - easily a flop buy.
Debuchy or not Debuchy
Another big transfer story from that day involved Newcastle United - in particular their continued raid on French football.
This time the target was a right-back - with French international Mathieu Debuchy in particular the target.
But 12 months ago any deal was promptly killed off. Debuchy admitted that he was angry with his then club Lille - as they refused to budge on selling the talent.
In the end they did get their man, in January. After a below average showing for Lille they decided to cash in on their man and the Ton Army bought him
Where he continued his indifferent form.
Moura less a done deal
Manchester United’s pursuit of Lucas Moura stepped up a gear. Their £30 million pursuit was supposed to be their marquee signing of the summer and a delegation of his Brazilian officials were in town to discuss a deal.
Five days later he signed for Paris Saint-Germain.
