Transfer news from Liverpool, Manchester United, West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace and Fulham.
Liverpool have made a bid, believed to be in the region of £21 million, for Atletico Madrid’s Brazilian forward Diego Costa. The 24-year-olds release clause has now been triggered with Los Colchoneros and Brendan Rodgers is looking for a quick resolution to the deal.
However the move for Costa does not supposedly have any bearing of that of Luis Suarez at Liverpool.
The Daily Star report that they have a ‘WORLD EXCLUSIVE’ on the future of Cristiano Ronaldo. They claim that discussions over an £80 million plus move back to Old Trafford are ongoing - and that Ronaldo has informed Madrid he wants a return to Manchester.
It is believed the imminent departure of Ronaldo would speed up any deal for Gareth Bale.
That deal could also be about to go through. It is reported in the Daily Mirror that a price of £105 million for the Welshman has been agreed between the two parties. Spurs still claim he is not for sale but it looks as if a player will be going in the other direction. - possibly Fabio Coentrao.
West Ham are said to be turning their striking attention to Austrian forward Marko Arnautovic of Werder Bremen. The bad-boy former Inter Milan player is transfer listed at the Bundesliga outfit - who are struggling financially.
David de Gea has been urging Cesc Fabregas to join him at Manchester United. The goalkeeper feels the former Arsenal skipper would ‘greatly improve’ the current team.
Crystal Palace have snapped up former Blackpool midfielder Elliot Grandin, following a successful trial at the club. The 25-year-old has previously worked with Eagles boss Ian Holloway at Blackpool - in what was, at times, a complicated relationship. He has signed a one-year deal.
Finally, and Darren Bent has plenty of suitors this summer - with Fulham now the favourites to sign the Aston Villa striker. Newcastle United and West Ham have also been linked with the England international striker.
