Foul Mouth: Tottenham Hotspur fans on Caulker, AVB, and their star man...

Foul Mouth

Here's what Tottenham Hotspur fans are saying about the key talking points about their club over the past couple of days.

Your chance to join the debate on your club...

Steven Caulker sale

Ste: "I have been a spurs fan for 15 years and this sale is one of the most annoying things that has happened. I don't see why he was sold."

Rourke D: "Spurs never cease to amaze me with their short sighted moves. Why the HELL did they sell him?? They have to sell to buy..so did they decide on Caulker? The club is owned by the 7th richest man in Britain ..a multi billionaire, why do they need to sell too buy? I actually don;'t believe we will ever move up to the next level as long as Levy and Lewis are running things and calling the shots..Pathetic backward move."

Michelle: "It was supposed to be a loan but Caulker would have none of it and was a little too direct as he was not impressed by the news of the Chicheches deal. His positioning and concentration skills were well on display vs Sunderland and I think that helped to decide the issue for AVB. It's a pity as he was good in most other areas and I guess he will score vs us as per usual."

Woodsy: "I agree it seems like a strange one, however... AVB and Caulker obviously felt he wasn't going to get enough football to progress at a decent rate. The Romanian lad is rated higher and costs less and we MUST have a buy back clause in there somewhere. If we can get him back for the same money in a couple of years with Prem experience, it makes a convoluted sort of sense. Also, whilst the fans rate him very highly, AVB didn't trust him ahead of Dawson or Gallas last season, which is telling. Let him make mistakes at a lower club and please, buy him back in time!"

Gareth Bale and AVB

Affa Chan: "Our CL ambition worth more, and with Bale we have a better chance to archieve it, he will still be a 50mil player next season, while we will have a good season until then. COYS!

"I think it will effect AVB's commitment yes, not only that, but players would come in and use the club openly as a stepping stone as well. Our club image is a selling club, this right here is an opportunity to show we are not, however, 85 mil is a lot to turn away from, keeping hold of Bale is a big statement.

Greavsie: "Manchester United are also a selling club. Ronaldo to Real Madrid. Possibly Rooney to Chelski. Long term I can see that Levy wants the club to progress without bancrupting it."

Mark: "It's simple the sale of bale for 85 to 100 million can not be turned down. The loss of one player does not make a team. Avb would have this money to spend you could get Hulk for 35m, Sneijder 13m, Baines 15m, Fred 1.7m that would be 64.7m. So a team would be Loris, Walker, Baines, Vertonghen, Kaboul, Sandro, Sneijder, Paulinho, Fred, Soldado, Hulk. OK this team looks better then what it is right now. There would be money still to spend and a strong bench. So why would avb want to go. With that money we could build a team to not just get in the top four but we could look at finishing as champions."

Fraquar: "Get over yourself people. Real Madrid had Beckham, Zidane, Figo, Roberto Carlos, Raul, Ronaldo and Iker Casilas all on the team at the SAME TIME and still got knocked out of the CL and the Copa Del Rey. Bale guarantees Tottenham nothing - the 100 million from his sale would probably make Tottenham an even better team if spent wisely. I'd argue this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for Tottenham - not a death sentence."
