Frank Lampard has hailed Jose Mourinho’s effect on his career, and said that he believes the Portuguese manager can be just as influential on Chelsea’s current youngsters. Mourinho told Lampard he was the best player in the world when he arrived at Chelsea for his first spell in charge, and the midfielder is delighted to see him back at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have formed a partnership with Aldershot that has helped stave off financial ruin for the non-league side. Despite being on a list of released players announced earlier in the summer, Henrique Hilario has signed a one-year contract at Chelsea to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge. Hilario will likely be third choice behind Petr Cech and Mark Schwarzer, who joined the Blues on a free last month.

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have been put on alert by quotes from Anzhi player Willian that suggest he would be happy to leave the Russian club this summer despite only joining them in January. The Brazilian is still keen to join a top European club to boost his hopes of playing at next summer’s World Cup, but having paid £30million for the 24-year-old, Anzhi are unlikely to let him leave.

Chelsea youngster Isaiah Brown has been selected for the England Under-17 team to face Portugal, Italy and Turkey in an upcoming tournament. Brown recently joined Chelsea from West Bromwich Albion.
