Cardiff have signed Steven Caulker for a club record fee of £8 million from Tottenham.
The 21-year-old English defender will join the Welsh outfit who were recently promoted to the Premier League on a four-year contract from the North Londoners.
Tottenham are hopeful of completing a deal for Roberto Soldado from Valencia, despite difficulties resulting from a ‘dispute’ with the player’s agent. The transfer, if and when it goes through, is expected to be a record fee in the region of £26 million.
Amadeo Salvo confirmed the two clubs had reached an agreement on Wednesday.
"The deal with Tottenham has been completed," he confirmed.
"A problem with Soldado's agents has come up and the player will not leave the club until a solution has been found."
Earlier today, Southampton confirmed they had secured the future of youngster Calum Chambers who agreed a four-year deal to keep the 18-year-old prospect at St Mary’s.
Bundesliga side Schalke have dismissed reports that Kyriakos Papadopoulos could join Liverpool and confirmed they were not prepared to sell, despite being willing to inform him of any potential bids.
"There is no offer put up for the services of Kyriakos Papadopoulos. Not from Liverpool FC or any other club,” revealed general manager Horst Heldt.
"In case we receive a written transfer offer for his services we would sit down and discuss that with him."
Roma have confirmed Francesco Totti is set to sign a new contract to keep him in the Italian capital.
The 36-year-old striker’s future was confirmed by club president James Pallotta.
"We are going to talk to Francesco about a new deal," he told reporters.
“We want to build his future with Roma for the coming years".
In the Championship, Bournemouth have confirmed the signing of Andrew Surman on loan from Norwich.
Meanwhile, Doncaster have signed former Chelsea goalkeeper Ross Turnbull on a free transfer in one-year deal.
