MBA Lazard appoints President

MBA Lazard announced that María Jesús Hume Hurtado has been appointed President of MBA Lazard in Perú, effective immediately.

'She brings expertise and relationships formed over a distinguished career in both government and business. Her extensive experience and knowledge of international business affairs brings a unique perspective to our clients in Perú and complements the strong team that we have built in the Region'.

Mayu Hume has more than 30 years of experience in leadership positions in the public and private sectors. Currently she is on the board of a variety of companies and non-profit organizations. She is Chairman of the Board of AFP Integra, a leading private pension fund in Perú . She has also served as the Managing Director of the ING Group in Peru and Colombia. She served as the Vice Minister of Commerce in Perú's Ministry of Economy, Finance & Commerce for two years. She studied Civil Engineering and Economics at Pontificia Universidad Catolica of Peru.

MBA Lazard has achieved strong growth and success for clients since the opening of its Perú office in 2008, with major corporate advisory roles in local and cross-border transactions, including: advising Alicorp on the acquisition of Industrias Teal; Grupo Breca on the sale of Soldexa to Colfax Corporation; Banco de Crédito del Peru on the acquisition of Correval Sociedad Comisionista de Bolsa in Colombia; and San Martin Contratistas Generales on its sale to Empresas ICA; among others.
