Liverpool have released a list of words to staff, which are deemed unacceptable and must not be said.
One of the striking features about Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool is the forward thinking nature of his tactics as a manager and the way he’s got the club to look forward.
Liverpool are very much a football club looking to move forward in several ways and this list of words is a sensible attempt to help them fight all forms of prejudice and discrimination across various groups.
The list has been issued to full-time and casual staff members who experience the British public daily.
It’s also a very good way for the club to make staff aware of some words they may not know about, in order to cut down on incidents of discrimination on match days, allowing staff to pick out crowd members causing trouble.
“As part of the club's continued commitment to tackle all forms of discrimination, as well as promoting its approach to equality and diversity, Liverpool FC has been actively engaged in a full club-wide education and awareness programme,” said Rishi Jain, the club’s social inclusion officer.
