Minecraft topples Last of Us from UK No1


Xbox 360 edition of popular PC game dethrones fungal zombie title after six weeks at top.

Sony’s critically praised The Last of Us has finally fallen from No.1 after six consecutive weeks at the top spot, settling in at number three.

In its place is the make-anything block game Minecraft for the Xbox 360, which saw sales shoot up by 74 per cent, according to data provided by Chart-Track.

Meanwhile, the Wii U showed signs of life with Pikmin 3 breaking into the chart at number two, compared to its predecessor’s debut on the Gamecube at 41st place in 2004.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf held its ground at number four, while Mario and Luigi: Dream Team Bros. dropped two places to number five.

Climbing from ninth place, FIFA 13 took root at number six, with Far Cry 3, Skyrim and Tomb Raider taking seventh, eighth and ninth places respectively.

Closing off this week’s top ten is Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, which climbed up two places from 12.
