European transfer talk: Featuring Martinez, Arbeloa and Cardozo.

Former transfer targets for Liverpool, Manchester City, Everton, Cardiff City and Tottenham Hotspur all feature.

Jackson Martinez is set to complete a dramatic U-turn on his future and join Napoli this summer. A little over a week ago his agent stressed the Colombian would be staying with Portuguese outfit Porto this season - but today he looks set to move to Italy.

His agent Manuel Manzo stated:

‘’There's an agreement with the player, but we're missing one with Porto and the club don't want to sell him. The only way it could happen in my opinion is that they pay the 40million euro release clause, otherwise he won't leave.''

So if the two clubs can come to an agreement on a price - this player looks likely to be on his way.

AC Milan have signed defender Matias Silvestre from city rivals Inter. The deal will be concluded pending a medical with the Rossoneri.

He has been brought in as extra cover in the centre back positions after Daniele Bonera and Phillipe Mexes both suffered injuries.

Napoli are being linked with a move for another Real Madrid player this summer, Alvaro Arbeloa. Rafa Benitez is said to be keen on bringing in the player, who also worked under him at Liverpool, in order to strengthen the back-line.

He has recently been critical of elements of the hierarchy at Real Madrid and would join Jose Callejon, Raul Albiol and Gonzalo Higuain in making the switch from the Bernabeu to San Paolo.

Werder Bremen’s Swedish striker Denni Avdic is hot property in Holland. The striker spent last season on loan with PEC Zwolle and now FC Utrecht and AZ Alkmaar are looking at bringing him in as a replacement for Jacob Mulenga and Jozy Altidore respectively.

Fenerbahce have made an official enquiry for Benfica striker Oscar Cardozo. The Paraguayan goal-machine is looking for a move from Portugal this summer and the long rumoured Turkish interest has now been confirmed - however they are also moving for Emmanuel Emenike.
