Poor Michael Owen. Whenever he tweets or even discusses about a topic which is not darts or horse racing he tends to get it in the neck.
An example of this was last week when he ended up calling a Liverpool fan an 'idiot' in a row over Steven Gerrard.
So he should really have known that telling the BBC that Luis Suarez moving from Liverpool to Arsenal would be a 'surprise' for him didn't go down well with at least one set of supporters.
Which is the problem, you can't please everybody all of the time, as much as the former England striker may wish he could.
He spoke on Twitter this morning to address the 'vile response' his comments had caused, before attempting to clarify the comments.
But as we have seen here on HITC over the past few days, Arsenal and Liverpool fans do not see eye to eye on this one, and we are betting he has simply made things worse...
A typical vile reaction on my twitter timeline in response to my comments regarding Suarez potentially moving to Arsenal.— michael owen (@themichaelowen) July 29, 2013
Just to reiterate, I think Arsenal are a fantastic football club but I think Suarez moving there would be a sidewards move for him.— michael owen (@themichaelowen) July 29, 2013
What do you think of Owen's choice of words?
