Boss David Moyes stated he is ‘happy’ with the ‘workout’ his team got in Hong Kong, despite concerns over the state of the pitch conditions.
"We didn't worry too much about the pitch conditions at all. We played well. We move on now. We're trying to get the players fit for the start of the season and it was another hard workout in hot conditions. I'm happy with it. Now we return to the UK and we're ready to go to Sweden in a few days' time,” explained the Scot.
Meanwhile, United legend Bobby Charlton has insisted Wayne Rooney will stay at Old Trafford and believes he will beat his best record on goals if he does.
“Wayne Rooney is a Manchester United player and I think that he will continue to be a Manchester United player,” said England World Cup-winning legend Charlton.
“I was hoping one day that he might score as many goals as I had and that would have been really nice if it was at our club – and I’m still thinking that way.”
In transfer news, David Moyes is planning to ‘take stock’ over the club’s pursuit of Cesc Fabregas as they ‘ponder a third bid’ for the Barcelona midfielder.
"I couldn't tell if there will be another bid but obviously we'll take stock of it and decide what we're going to do next,” revealed the boss.
Moyes is ‘confident’ of signing new players before the transfer window closes.
"We hope we will do [sign new players], but what we've got is a good squad already. You can't forget about the quality that's already here," he told reporters in Hong Kong.
"Undoubtedly we hope to add to it and I'm quite confident we'll do that... certainly before the window shuts."

This comes as Barcelona reiterated that Fabregas is not for sale, as The Express reports.
