European transfer talk: Featuring Lewandowski, Ljajic and Martinez

Transfer gossip from the continent that could interest fans of Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Chelsea.

Borussia Dortmund general manager Hans-Joachim Watzke has expressed understanding at recent comments from Robert Lewandowski.

The Pole featured in the recent Super Cup victory against Bayern Munich, where he is expected to move next summer on a free transfer.

After the game Lewandowski suggested he no longer got on with certain members of the club and Watzke stated in response:

"Obviously he's referring to me. But I have got to make decisions for the good of this club. I can fully accept that Robert is a bit frustrated."

Paris Saint-Germain have ended any suggestion Thiago Silva could leave the club - by getting him to agree a new deal at the club. It is believed the mega-rich French club will remove the release clause from his contract.

They are also said to be in talks with both Marco Veratti and Zlatan Ibrahimovic over extending their deals at PSG - both have also been linked with a summer exit.

Valencia are set to replace Tottenham Hotspur bound striker Roberto Soldado - with a Spurs flop. Helder Postiga is expected to arrive at the Mestalla as soon as a deal for the Spanish international is finalised. A deal could be a while off yet however - with both parties disagreeing on the valuation of the 30-year-old Portuguese international.

Despite recent reports to the contrary - it is today reported that the agent of FC Porto star Jackson Martinez will meet with Napoli officials this week.

The Colombian is being lined up as extra attacking clout with which to spend the Edinson Cavani money on.

Napoli are also being linked with a move for Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez today. Reports suggest that Rafa Benitez.

Meanwhile, the battle to keep hold of or take away Adem Ljajic from Fiorentina continues to take shape. Fiorentina are struggling to agree a new deal with the player - who missed the recent friendly win against Apollon Limassol because his head was not in the right place. AC Milan are keen on the former Manchester United starlet.
