It appears that Hulk has done the trick - as Bernard nears a switch to FC Porto this summer. Porto manager Paolo Fonseca refused to be drawn on speculation regarding Bernard however it is now being widely reported that the Brazilian international would snub overtures from the Premier League in order to play at the Estadio Dragao.
Arsenal centre-back Laurent Koscielny has revealed his confidence ahead of next season. The club have been in great form this pre-season and are now looking forward to going toe-to-toe with more illustrious opposition in the Emirates Cup:
We won all our games so that's good for confidence. We had a lot of training and all the players trained very well and gave themselves for the team.
"Pre-season is very important for the Premier League. It's a long season so we need to be fit - I think we did well. The wins give us some confidence, and it's good for the next games - the Emirates Cup, [the friendly] against Manchester City and the start of the season."
Maraoune Chamakh’s Arsenal nightmare could be about to come to an end. The Moroccan has struggled to make an impact at the club since his arrival and recently spent an unsuccessful spell with West Ham on loan.
The former Bordeaux man has been linked with a return to his old club but now Ian Holloway is keen to take him on loan for the season at Crystal Palace.
Gervinho is edging closer to a move away from the Emirates this summer. The Ivorian has been linked with a move to join up with his former manager Rudi Garcia at Roma in recent weeks and several reports now suggest a deal is imminent.
German youth international Sinan Kurt has again been linked with Arsenal today - after a reported bid from Galatasaray was rejected by Borussia Monchengladbach. The 17-year-old has been compared to Borussia Dortmund playmaker Marco Reus.
