The Bayern Munich star is said to be considering his future with the Champions League winners, as worries creep in over his starting chances at the Allianz Arena.
The Brazilian international wants to be assured of first-team football ahead of the new campaign - with a place in the Selecao starting line-up for a home World Cup, at risk, if he is not playing regular football.
Jose Mourinho is said to see him as the perfect replacement for John Obi Mikel - whom the Portuguese does not seem to be overly keen of in the holding role.
The player is likely to be available for around £15 million but they must move fast - as Wolfsburg have already lodged an offer for the player.
The latest on Wayne Rooney now, and it is believed the club have a threshold of £30 million to spend on the Manchester United player. Rooney, is said to be keen on a United exit after becoming ‘angry and confused’ by his treatment at the club in the past six months.
Chelsea are expected to make a £25 million bid for the player in the coming days, but Mourinho has suggested that the money is there to invest in one player:
‘’The club are working hard to keep the numbers in balance but we can still invest in a player who costs £20m, £25m, £30m and not break the balance. We don't need to sell to do that.’’
Jose Mourinho has suggested that Didier Drogba has a future with the club. While denying he could make a move for the Ivorian in the current transfer window, he did hint that the striker could return to Stamford Bridge one day, in some capacity. He did however allude to the fact that he is not the person to make such a decision.
