Tottenham Hotspur have been given the asking price for long-term target Leandro Damiao. The 24-year-old Brazilian has long been linked with a move to link up with Andre Villas-Boas but no deal has ever truly been close. However a director for the club has been talking about his asking price
‘’The price is £22million. If one of the clubs wants to buy Damiao, this is the price they will have to pay.’’
It is believed that Spurs’ main transfer target is now Roberto Soldado. However if they do fail in their bid for the Spanish international it is believed that Damiao will be the next striker on the agenda; as AVB looks to add depth to his current strike force of Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor.
The latest now on Gareth Bale and AVB has remained silent on the matter today, Marca have been at it again today; stirring their tale of an imminent Madrid move so questions were posed to AVB about Bale’s future at White Hart Lane.
‘’I don’t want to comment on anything like that. I cannot speak about anything.’’
Bale sat out today’s game against South China with a gluteus strain; his absence from the side giving ammo to Madrid and Marca’s arsenal.
Contract talks between Bale and Spurs are also still ongoing despite reports of Real Madrid’s interest in paying £100 million for the Welsh wizard.
It is being reported on Spanish radio that a deal for Roberto Soldado could be close to completion. Cadena Ser Valencia reporter Fran Guaita has revealed on his Twitter feed …
‘VCF and Tottenham close positions to close the transfer of Soldado for € 30M…’
The deal, which converts to roughly £26 million, does seem to be drawing close to an end; with local reporters often the best bet when it comes to reliable information.
Soldado’s agent met with Franco Baldini five days ago to discuss a move and while Spurs have been reluctant to spend that sort of money on the player it seems that position has changed.
