Transfer news from Stamford Bridge including Sami Khedira, Bertrand Traore, Doria and Wayne Rooney.
Reports in Spain today suggest Chelsea are on the path toward signing Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira. Despite previous claims by Jose Mourinho that he had no interest in signing anyone other than Wayne Rooney it is now claimed a £15 million deal could be on the cards.
They do however have competition according to the report. They also claim AS Monaco are willing to stump up the cash for the player.
Khedira would be reuniting with Jose Mourinho; with whom he had an excellent relationship in Madrid.
Chelsea are sweating over the future of their talented trialist Bertrand Traore. The Burkinabe midfielder has been excellent in pre-season but is not currently a Chelsea player. The player cannot apply for a work permit due to his age and must wait until September to do so.
Even then there is no promise a deal can be done because he may not meet all the regulations required to obtain a permit.
There are now growing fears that after seeing him shine on international duty that some teams from countries with more lax rules on foreign players such as Italy, Russia or France could come in and snap up the talented teenager.
Chelsea are continuing to pursue 18-year-old Brazilian Doria this weekend. The under-20 captain for his country, he has been valued as high as £8.2 million by his current club Botafogo.
Tottenham are also said to be interested in the player, who has been compared to Thiago Silva in his homeland.
Paul Scholes has told Wayne Rooney not to join Chelsea this summer. The United legend, who retired this summer, had this to say on any potential Old Trafford exit:
“I don't think there's anywhere better than Manchester United to play your football. It's up to Wayne - but he's a top, top player and every player and fan wants him to stay.”
