In the past 12 months, Paris Saint-Germain have embarked on a relentless recruitment policy funded by the deep pockets and bulging wallets belonging to Doha-based Qatar Investment Authority.
With the sovereign wealth fund's backing, PSG have attracted Lucas Moura (£39m), Thiago Silva (£36m), Ezequiel Lavezzi (£22m), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (£18m) and David Beckham (free). This summer, they have supplemented their ranks with Edinson Cavani (£55m) and Marquinhos (£27m).
Despite the expenditure and the talent already at the club's disposal, reports emerging from France indicate that PSG are looking to supplement their wide positions. Having already secured the signature of young French wonderkid Lucas Digne, the focus is now primarily on the wings, rather than the full backs.
According to the report, PSG are interested in:
Tottenham Hotspur's man of the moment Gareth Bale
Any push for Bale is likely to be thwarted by Spurs, who are currently playing hardball in the press with Real Madrid waiting in the wings to capitalise on any potential player disgruntlement. Tottenham have attached a hefty £100m+ price-tag on Bale's bonce and, if the Welshman were to leave, it would likely be to Madrid, rather than to Paris.
Manchester United's fringe player Nani
Nani represents the likelier target out of the Portuguese player and Bale. With the burgeoning talent of Wilfried Zaha and the combination of Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young on either flank, Nani may be surplus to requirements at Old Trafford, leaving a £8m-£9m exit a distinct possibility.
Other Premier League players who have been linked to PSG this summer have included Wayne Rooney, Samir Nasri, Yaya Toure, David Luiz and Yohan Cabaye.
