Transfer Talk: Featuring Gervinho, Hooper and Rooney

Arsenal, Celtic, Norwich, Fiorentina, Manchester United, Chelsea, QPR, Cardiff, PSG, and Napoli all feature.

Celtic striker Gary Hooper has passed a medical with Norwich this evening and is ‘poised’ to sign a four-year contract with the Canaries, despite significant and recent interest from Queen’s Park Rangers this week.

The 25-year-old is understood to be on the move for a fee of around £5.5 million from the Scottish Premier League to Carrow Road.

Meanwhile, Arsenal winger Gervinho could be headed to Roma where he is the subject of interest thought to be worth £6.9 million for the Ivorian forward, but the Gunners are thought to be holding out for an increased bid.

Incidentally, Arsenal target Bernard has bid ‘farewell’ to Atletico Mineiro amidst speculation the Gunners are about to agree a £21 million move for the 20-year-old Brazilian attacker this week.

The left-sided attacking midfielder also stated that only ‘God will decide’ his future.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho remains ‘calm’ about the prospect of signing Wayne Rooney from Manchester United.

The Blues' boss also insisted he is ‘happy’ with what he has already at Stamford Bridge, despite having confirmed the 27-year-old England number 10 as his primary target only a week ago.

In the Championship, meanwhile, Doncaster Rovers have signed former Manchester United defender Luke McCullough on a two-year contract.

Jamie Mackie has handed in a transfer request to QPR who have, in turn, accepted the request from the 27-year-old.

Elsewhere, Cardiff have had a £2 million bid accepted for John Brayford by Derby County.

Meanwhile, Sheffield Wednesday have signed striker Atdhe Nuhiu on a three-year deal.

Finally, earlier today Paris Saint-Germian confirmed they had opened contract talks with Marco Verratti who is a target of Napoli and formerly Manchester United’s.
