Liverpool transfer news: £50m for Suarez, deal for Frenchman close

A round up of the latest transfer stories to do with Liverpool.

Liverpool are set to stand by their price demand of £50 million for striker Luis Suarez.

Arsenal have now seen two approaches of £30 million and £40 million turned down by the player and it seems the only way Liverpool will even contemplate selling is if their top end fee is met.

Suarez is believed to want talks with the Gunners and some reports are suggesting he will submit an official transfer request to the club.

Liverpool are set to complete a loan deal for Valencia full back Aly Cissokho.

The Frenchman will move to Anfield on loan for an initial fee of around £900,000. Liverpool will then have a chance to make the move permanent for around £3.5 million when that loan deal expires.

Brendan Rodgers has singled out Cissokho to provide competition for Jose Enrique at left back.

Goalkeeper Pepe Reina is set to complete a loan move to Napoli today after passing a medical with the club yesterday.

The Spaniard is linking up with the Italian side on a season long loan deal, which creates a great opportunity for Simon Mignolet to nail down the number one slot at Anfield.

Reina will now link up with former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez.
