Brendan Rodgers has revealed Liverpool have a cut off point in mind with regards to the future of Luis Suarez. The forward continues to be linked with a move away from the club but Rodgers has suggested there is a point where Liverpool wouldn’t consider any bids for the player if it comes and goes.

Liverpool could focus on signing Luis Muriel of Udinese as a replacement for Luis Suarez if the Uruguayan leaves the club. The 22-year-old has impressed during his first full season with the Italian side having spent time on loan previously with Granada and Lecce.

Paris Saint-German defender Mamadou Sakho says he has decided where he will move to from France but isn’t revealing the destination just yet. The Frenchman is one of the best defensive prospects in Europe and has been tracked by Liverpool for several weeks.

Liverpool are one of the sides in contention to sign Chelsea youngster Lucas Piazon on loan for next season. The 19-year-old winger could become Brendan Rodgers’ latest signing although the club faces strong competition from Ian Holloway’s Crystal Palace.

Brendan Rodgers says a good start to the new Premier League season is vital for his team. Liverpool struggled at the start of last season, which ultimately played a large part in stopping the club from having a crack at the top four, seeing them finish below local rivals Everton.

Reports have suggested Real Madrid have ruled themselves out of the running to sign striker Luis Suarez. Arsenal are now the favourites to sign the striker unless Liverpool and manager Brendan Rodgers can convince the Uruguayan to stay. Liverpool have already turned down to bids from the Gunners for the forward.

Liverpool will face strong competition from Benfica to sign Christian Atsu of FC Porto. Liverpool have been linked with the Porto star for most of the summer but are apparently reluctant to pay the Portuguese club’s £6 million asking price, which has tempted Benfica into the equation.

Mark Lawrenson has suggested the departure of Pepe Reina to Napoli on loan shows the club is paying for the previous regime. Reina was reportedly sent on loan to the Italian side as a way of easing the wage budget, something the former Liverpool favourite blames on the Tom Hicks and George Gillett era.

Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel says the pre-season friendly win against Melbourne Victory was a ‘special’ occasion. Liverpool defeated the Australian side 2-0 in front of a packed Melbourne Cricket Ground, which has a capacity of just over the 90,000 mark.
