Arsene Wenger revealed his admiration for Clement Grenier a couple of months back, only to see him sign a new contract a fortnight ago.
Clement Grenier was at the centre of a tug of war between Lyon and Arsenal earlier this summer, at one stage hinting he could be off to the Emirates.
With one year left on his contract, the attacking midfielder could have been the perfect replacement for Andrei Arshavin, but was convinced into signing a new deal with the French club.
He is some player, with a free-kick to rival former Lyon great Juninho Pernambucano, and a creative spark which saw him compared to Kaka in his youth.
On Wednesday evening Grenier was handed a start in a pre-season friendly against Kaka's current side (yes he is still there), Real Madrid.
And wow, did he make the most of it. In just the 20th minute he scored a sublime volley, which really deserves watching again and again.
The first time you see it you'll wonder what quite happened, and the second, how did he do that?!
