Sky Sports sources are claiming Cesc Fabregas is considering his future in light of Manchester United’s interest. The Red Devils have already had two bids rejected by Barcelona, and yet reports claim he hasn’t received assurances about game-time and is now pondering a possible move.
With Barcelona having now appointed a successor to Tito Vilanova, any decision on the former Arsenal midfielder’s future could be made sooner rather than later. If new boss Gerardo Martino gives him a hug and a promise, expect him to stay. If on the other hand the new coach would prefer the increasingly sizeable transfer fee United are reportedly considering, Fabregas may be on his way to Old Trafford after all.
In short, United would not be so persistent (and publicly so) had they not received encouragement from somewhere.
In the latest Wayne Rooney news, the England striker is said to be up for a move to Arsenal...if a transfer to Chelsea fails to materialise.
As much as David Moyes continues to stress that Rooney is not for sale, the belief among many is that the 27-year-old has played his last game for the champions, and that they are simply holding out for incomings before sanctioning such a headline-inducing outgoing.
But Rooney has performed a dramatic U-turn before. Who knows what is to come between now and the beginning of September.
One striker who does look set for the Old Trafford exit – for a short while – is Angelo Henriquez.
The Chilean had a disappointing loan spell at Wigan last season, during which he was barely used. But reports today claim Spanish side Real Zaragoza would like to offer him a temporary home next season.
The same report continues with yesterday’s rumours that Nani is wanted by Monaco. Although it is claimed the free-spending French side are yet to make a bid for the winger.
