One in every four page views in North America land on Google, according to research conducted by network analytics firm DeepField. Furthermore, 62% of all devices interact with Google every day.
While there was no response at the time from the search engine giant turned software engineer, the statistics indicate that they are: 'bigger than Facebook, Netflix and Twitter combined.'
As well as using 'anonymised data' from core Internet infrastructre, Alexa and Comscore, DeepField compiled their analysis by also accounting for traffic from 'embedded devices' such as Apple TV, Xbox 360 and mobile apps.
While Google's initial mission statement was to 'organise the world's information', it has experienced unprecedented growth to include productivity software (email), office suite, social networking (G+), it's own web browser (Chrome), web acquisitions (YouTube) and is regarded to be the premier mapmaker.
It also purchased Android in 2005, has a partnership with Verizon and is at the cutting-edge of technology with it's Google Glass offering and self-driving cars.
