Napoli have completed the signing of Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid; subject to a medical. The Argentine has been highlighted as the perfect replacement for Edinson Cavani, who has just joined Paris Saint-Germain for £55 million.
Higuain is undergoing a medical in Rome today along with Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina. The deal will cost Napoli £32 million.
Apparent Liverpool transfer target Josip Illicic has agreed a move to Fiorentina next season. The Slovenian had an excellent season at Palermo last term and always maintained that a move to Florence was his preferred option. He will now undergo a medical before signing a permanent deal.
Sevilla are on the brink of signing their replacement for Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo with a move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Kevin Gameiro. PSG coach Laurent Blanc has confirmed that the Frenchman has left the clubs camp in Sweden to enter final negotiations with the club:
“I’ve admired Kevin for a long time now, but it is his choice and it is in keeping with what the club wants.”
Jackson Martinez has confirmed he is not leaving Porto this summer. The Colombian’s agent has made it clear the striker is happy in Portugal and actually looking to extend his deal with the club:
"We want to renew his contract but keep more or less the same conditions. I don't know for how many more years, we will only know after we all talk."
Former Arsenal player Julio Baptista has agreed his release from Malaga. The player has long made it clear that he desires a switch away from Spain in order to return to his native Brazil.
