Transfer talk: Manchester United with second Fabregas bid and Reina departing

Manchester United, Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Liverpool all feature.

A couple of done deals to start us off and Arsenal fans will be pleased to know Andre Santos is no longer a Gunner.

The Brazilian has been allowed to join Brazilian club Flamengo on a free transfer after falling down the pecking order at The Emirates.

Crystal Palace have given 39-year-old Kevin Phillips the perfect gift in his 40th birthday week - by giving the veteran striker a one-year contract. The former Sunderland player said:

‘’I am absolutely delighted. I was always hoping to have another chance to play in the top flight."

In what is becoming a daily round-up of Luis Suarez related activity the news today suggests that the Liverpool striker is ready to go back on his decision to leave the Premier League and force a move to Arsenal.

Now it is also reported that Liverpool could be offered Arsenal target Gonzalo Higuain as part of a swap deal for the player.

Arsenal are being linked with Juan Mata. The Chelsea player has had his long-term future called into question on numerous occasions this summer and it is being reported that Arsenal are interested in buying the player; all this despite Jose Mourinho claiming he was not for sale.

Liverpool could lose Pepe Reina this summer. The club signed Simon Mignolet this summer and Reina does not want to play second fiddle to the Belgian international. It should ease the Liverpool wage bill for some big signings before the start of the season.

Newcastle United are after another Frenchman in the form of Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis:

‘’We have expressed an interest in Gomis. We think that he's a player who has great potential. He's a French international who's played at the highest level for his club."

Finally and Norwich City are after another big name signing in the form of Maxi Lopez. They have failed in their bid to sign Fabio Quagliarella so are instead turning their attentions to the former Barcelona star from Catania.

And news just in courtesy of Sky Sports that Manchester United have made an improved bid for Cesc Fabregas believed to be in the region of £30 million plus add-ons.
