Liverpool striker Luis Suarez is reportedly ready to tell the club he wants a move to Arsenal.
It is no secret the Uruguayan wishes to leave Anfield this summer, and despite the Gunners already having one offer rejected, they are reportedly willing to up the price in an attempt to secure a much-needed new frontman.
The report also claims that while Suarez had hoped to join Real Madrid, the Spanish side are unwilling to pay more than £25million for him. Arsenal’s offer could reach the £40million mark (including add-ons).
But conflicting reports claim Arsenal could lose out on not only Suarez, but on long-term target Gonzalo Higuain too, with Carlo Ancelotti considering a £20million-plus-Higuain offer for the Liverpool striker.
So either Real aren’t interested in the striker…or they are. And either Arsenal will sign Suarez…or Higuain…or neither.
Such is the foggy nature of the transfer window.
Daniel Agger is also reportedly the subject of La Liga interest, with Barcelona said to be considering an offer for the defender.
It was strongly believed the Spanish champions would sign Thiago Silva from PSG this summer. But the French club have ruled out any move for the Brazilian. And with the Ligue 1 champions also signing Marquinhos ahead of the Catalan side, it is claimed Agger has now risen up their wanted list.
And finally, Pepe Reina has agreed a one-year loan move to Napoli.
The Spaniard was likely to be second-choice next season following the arrival of Simon Mignolet. And with Victor Valdes staying at Barcelona for another year, Reina’s much-mooted move to the Nou Camp has been postponed as he reunites with former boss Rafael Benitez in Italy.
