European transfer talk: Featuring Marquinhos medical snag, Eriksen and Gustavo

Christian Eriksen playing for Denmark at Euro 2012

News and gossip from the continent as Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United targets could all be on the move.

Christian Eriksen looks set to be on his way to AC Milan this weekend. It is being reported by multiple outlets that the Danish international has rejected overtures from Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen in order to move to the San Siro on a four-year-deal. The move could be confirmed by Monday.

PSG’s deal for Marquinhos has hit a glitch. The AS Roma centre-back was said to have agreed a move to the French capital this morning on his official Twitter account. However, the Brazilian talent is struggling with a tooth problem which requires immediate medication so he has only been cleared for 95% of his medical. He is expected to complete his medical on Saturday.

Genoa have snapped up former Argentine international Mario Santana. The 31-year-old has left Napoli after spending last season out on loan at Torino. He has signed a three-year deal and will join up with his former team-mate Fabio Liverani who is the new Genoa boss.

VfL Wolfsburg reportedly want to sign midfielder Luiz Gustavo from Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich. The Brazilian international struggled for games at Bayern last season and things are not expected to become any easier for him in 2013-14.

Gustavo refused to be drawn on the issue when asked by journalists

Roma are on the verge of signing Uruguayan starlet Gonzalo Bueno on a season long loan deal. The 20-year-old forward was one of the stand out players at this summer’s Under-20 World Championships in Turkey. He will potentially make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

Nelson Valdez has left Valencia. The Paraguayan striker has joined Al Jazira of Dubai in a €3 million move on a two-year deal.

Finally and Brazilian right-back Fabinho has arrived at AS Monaco on a two-year deal. The former Real Madrid defender arrives at the Monegasque from Portuguese outfit Rio Ave.
