Bacary Sagna has confirmed he has no plans to leave the club this summer. The Frenchman has been linked with several clubs this summer including Paris Saint-Germain, AS Monaco and Inter Milan as his contract expires next summer; and until today he has not exactly inspired confidence over his future.
However today he revealed he is focused on the new season and has no plans to go anywhere for now. And the club is expected to offer him a one-year extension.
However he will receive competition at the club from Carl Jenkinson. The right-back has been speaking today about his desire to be on the plane to Brazil for England next summer.
"It would be a dream for me to go to a World Cup and if I can play for Arsenal every week then I would give myself a chance. But that's a big target for me. It's a big season for me. I look it at a massive season. I've had a couple of years now where I've played, settled in and personally I've raised my level and get more chances.’’
Arsenal apparently have £40 million to spend on Luis Suarez this summer but Liverpool apparently now want £55 million for the Uruguayan star; who has made his desire to play in the Champions League public.
Arsenal’s other striker target is Gonzalo Higuain and apparently Chelsea want him. Despite Jose Mourinho suggesting that Wayne Rooney was the clubs only transfer target this summer the Argentine striker has reportedly told Spanish press that the Special One ‘wants’ him at Stamford Bridge.
Arsenal are to refund fans who were charged to meet their players. It has emerged that some fans along the clubs tour have been charged thousands of pounds to meet the clubs players this summer. The club have discovered the practice and will be refunding those fans affected.
Lyon have confirmed there will be no bid for Gervinho this summer. The Ivorian has been linked with a swap deal with Yoann Gourcuff but that idea has now been rubbished by Lyon’s manager and former Gunner Remi Garde.
Ashley Williams has said he is flattered by interest in him from The Gunners. However the Wales and Swans captain has now confirmed he is focused on this season with Michael Laudrup’s men.
