News and gossip from the past 24 hours at The Emirates.
Arsenal have been given a blow to their shopping list this summer after being told that two of their main targets will cost them a lot more then they first thought.
Firstly Gonzalo Higuain and Real Madrid are now reported to want a whopping £37 million for the Argentine striker.
It was originally forecast that the striker would cost just £23 million but that no longer seems to be the case. Napoli are also joining the race for the player.
The striker himself has revealed Chelsea are also trying to sign him, despite the Blues' interest in Wayne Rooney.
The Gunners need to make a ‘drastic’ bid if they are to get hold of Luis Suarez this summer. It is believed that Liverpool will not even contemplate selling the Uruguayan striker for less than £40 million which could be out of Arsene Wenger’s desired price range.
Wayne Rooney is once again being linked with the club this summer. Rooney is ready to leave Manchester United and has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea this week. However some reports today suggest that Arsenal are looking to swoop in for the player who was described as affordable by the club only recently.
Despite Atletico Madrid maintaining yesterday that they had no interest in taking Santi Cazorla away from North London the club have decided to make it clear that he is not for sale at any price this summer.
Arsenal are close to getting Andre Santos off the books. The left-back is out-of-favour at The Emirates and spent time at Gremio last season on loan. But after nothing else could be arranged with the Porto Alegre side he had to return to London. But he is now set to join Flamengo for the season.
Finally, and the captivating story of the ‘Arsenal running man’. The Vietnamese man Vu Xuan Tien chased the Arsenal team bus through the streets of Hanoi in an attempt to meet his idols on their pre-season tour stop in Vietnam. Olivier Giroud recorded the video with Wojciech Szczesny narrating and you can see the national hero below…
