5. 1966 - US police charge a seaman with the murder of eight student nurses in their hostel in Chicago

6. 1976 - 14-year-old Romanian gymnast Nadia Comaneci earns the first perfect score, a 10, at the Montreal Olympics and went on to score six more tens and win three gold medals

7. 1981 - 10,000 take part in a march through Dublin in support of republican hunger strikers in the Maze Prison, Northern Ireland

8. 1986 - New close-up videotapes of the sunken ocean liner Titanic are released to the public

9. 1992 - Whitney Houston marries Bobby Brown

10. 2000 - Police confirm the body they found in a West Sussex field is that of missing eight-year old Sarah Payne

11. 2003 - A body believed to be that of Iraq specialist and government scientist Dr David Kelly is found in Oxfordshire
