A round up of the latest transfer news and rumours connected to Chelsea.

Chelsea are reportedly making progress in their bid to bring Daniele De Rossi to Stamford Bridge.

Roma have apparently told the player he can leave the club, with Chelsea ready with a £12 million deal for the midfielder, that’s despite the fact Roma’s boss Rudi Garcia has said he wants the player to stay.

“He is a great player and surely it's better to have him with us than to see him leave,” said Garcia.

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has ruled out leaving the club in loan this summer.

Lukaku spent time on loan at West Bromwich Albion last season but the forward says he has spoken to Jose Mourinho and has been assured that he will get a chance in the first team next season.

“We spoke and I want to keep it private because when you have confidential talks with the manager, it has to stay between you and him. We had a good talk and now it's up to me,” he told Sky Sports News.

Chelsea have no chance of signing Edinson Cavani from Napoli after he completed a medical to join Paris Saint-Germain.

Chelsea showed heavy interest in the prolific Uruguayan striker but were unwilling to meet Napoli’s valuation on the player, which was around the £53-55 million mark.

Chelsea stood firm at £40 million and PSG swooped in with an offer, which was simply too good for the Italian side to turn down and the medical was the final nail in the coffin.
