Arsenal may have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Marouane Fellaini after a report in the Evening Standard stated the Belgian would prefer to join Manchester United rather than move to the Emirates. Neither club are yet to meet his £23.5 million release clause despite previous reports to the contrary.

Arsenal's pursuit of Gonzalo Higuain is on a 'knife edge', report The Star, whose further use of hyperbole goes onto state the pursuit is 'hanging by a thread'. This is due to the club stalling over the move and the striker re-considering his options, while Napoli's Edinson Cavani cash is also threatening to complicate matters.

Released Arsenal youngster Jernade Meade has signed a deal with Swansea City. The full-back played in both the League Cup and the Champions League with the Gunners last season.

QPR have told suitors of Julio Cesar that the goalkeeper will not be permitted to leave cheaply. They have also ruled out the possibility of a season long loan.

Former Arsenal maestro Cesc Fabregas will not be signing for Manchester United, insists Tito Vilanova. The Barcelona coach has insisted that the midfielder has told him he intends to stay at the Spanish champions. The Star have this evening insisted that Manchester City and Chelsea would also be interested in signing him if he changed his mind and wanted to leave.

A Vietnamese super-fan has shown his passion for the Gunners by making a frantic five mile dash alongside the team bus. After being cheered, the supporter was invited on board for photos with the players.
