Tottenham's Brazilian playmaker target Bernard has been speaking briefly about his future, hinting that the Copa Libertadores final for Atletico Mineiro could be his final game for the club.
He said: "If it's my last game [for Atletico Mineiro] or not, it will be one of the most important titles in my career.
"Libertadores is very important, for the club and for the players. I'll do my best to make fans happy, as moments like that may not happen again."
If he did join Spurs after winning the tournament, he would be following in the footsteps of Sandro who did the same after winning the title with Internacional in 2010.
Both Liverpool and Arsenal have in recent days been linked with 20-year-old Bernard.
Belgian midfield star Nacer Chadli has issued a come-and-get-me plea to Spurs via his club chairman, who has stated they are his preferred destination.
Twente chairman Joop Munsterman said: "We hear a lot about Tottenham but the club will have to put up a concrete offer first. So far only Swansea and Shakhtar have made concrete offers and are still options, even though Nacer decided not to go to them. We hope for some clarity this week."
Heurelho Gomes is no closer to leaving White Hart Lane, after it was confirmed PSV are no closer to making a much rumoured offer to bring him back to Eindhoven.
Tottenham back room staff Tim Sherwood and Les Ferdinand are wanted at League One club Swindon Town, according to reports. The job is vacant after manager Kevin Macdonald left last week.
It is claimed chairman Daniel Levy 'will not let either go without a fight'. Spurs have good relations with Swindon, sending several youngsters on loan recently, including Massimo Luongo.
