A round-up of news and views relating to Chelsea over the past 24 hours.
Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has said he is not considering going out on loan again next season, and the 20-year-old is hoping to force his way into Jose Mourinho’s first team with a good pre-season.
"No, not at the moment,” Lukaku said when asked if he would go on loan.
"You never know in football but my mind is in Chelsea now and I have come back to do well in pre-season and if I do a good pre-season, I think I will have a place in the squad and hopefully in the starting 11.”
Roma coach Rudi Garcia has said he wants to keep midfielder Daniele De Rossi at the club amid reports that Chelsea are in talks to sign the 29-year-old. Roma are apparently prepared to sell the midfielder for around £12million, and no longer want Chelsea right-back Wallace to make part of any deal.
Sami Khedira has played down rumours linking him with a move to Chelsea, saying he is focussed on next season with Real Madrid. Mourinho signed Khedira for the Spanish club, and there has been speculation he would try and bring the German international once to Stamford Bridge.
Walsall have signed Chelsea’s 20-year-old striker Milan Lalkovic on loan until January. The Slovakian youngster has yet to make an appearance for the Blues, and has previously spent time on loan at Doncaster.
PSG will reportedly try and tempt Branislav Ivanovic away from Chelsea this summer with a huge pay rise. The Ligue 1 champions are apparently prepared to offer £8million for the 29-year-old, who has spoken positively about playing under Mourinho at Chelsea recently.
Ramires’ international future is in doubt after reports that the Chelsea midfielder decided to attend a dinner party with his wife rather than play for Brazil in March. Ramires was not part of Brazil’s Confederations Cup squad this summer, and now seems unlikely to feature at next year’s World Cup.
