Chelsea transfer news: De Rossi nears move, Ivanovic wants to stay

The latest Chelsea related transfer news.

Chelsea's move for Roma midfielder Daniele de Rossi has moved a step closer, report the Mail.

The Italy international would cost as little as £11 million, and would take the squad space vacated by Oriol Romeu's loan move to Valencia.

The Mirror last night claimed big-spenders PSG want to offer £8 million plus add-ons for defender Branislav Ivanovic.

But this was countered by the Mail's report which states that Ivanovic has a desire to stay and work under Jose Mourinho.

"The 29-year-old is wanted to play at right back by Laurent Blanc, however he would prefer to extend his contract with the Blues."

The Mirror also reiterate that David Luiz is still wanted by Barcelona, as their pursuit of Thiago Silva falls flat.

Young prospect Nathan Ake is meanwhile set to snub a loan move to Marco van Ginkel's former club Vitesse Arnhem.

The People report that Ake wants to remain in England, but would consider a loan move to another Premier League club. Ake will be in action at the European under-19 championships later this month.

Another starlet, Lucas Piazon has been telling Chelsea's website about the benefits of his loan spell at Malaga earlier this year.

The Brazilian says he is hoping to impress in pre-season and is busy helping new right-back prospect Wallace settle into the squad.
