Atletico Mineiro have revealed that they have received five offers for Brazilian winger Bernard, who is expected to move to Europe after the Copa Libertadores final later this month.
Spurs have monitored the player in the past, but indicated they were not going to pursue their interest due to Bernard’s high price-tag of £25million, with Porto favourites to sign the 20-year-old. The London club were instead looking at FC Twente’s Nacer Chadli.
However reports suggest Spurs might still be considering Bernard, and some of their biggest rivals for the player, including Porto might no longer be in the race due to their other transfer business.
The Portuguese club have apparently signed one-time Manchester united target Juan Quintero, whilst Borussia Dortmund have splashed the cash on Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang.
Clint Dempsey has reportedly been transfer listed by Spurs, and could be on the move for a second summer in a row. Dempsey joined Spurs on deadline day last August for around £6million, and has a mixed first season, scoring some vital goals but never nailing down a regular first team place.
With Spurs expected to make some additions to their attack this summer, as well as potentially switching to a 4-3-3 system, the 30-year-old might move on to get regular first team football.
Another Spurs man close to a departure is Tom Huddlestone, who has been widely linked with a £5million move to Sunderland. Paolo Di Canio has wasted no time in the transfer window this summer, and hopes to add the 26-year-old midfielder to his squad in the next week or so.
Huddlestone has struggled with injuries over the past two seasons at Spurs, and with Paulinho arriving last weekend, he is unlikely to make much of an impression on the first team next year.
Finally Spurs move for Dinamo Zagreb youngsters Tin Jedvaj and Alen Halilovic has apparently broken down, with the defender on the move to Roma, and Halilovic reportedly set to stay at the Croatian club.
