Manchester United fans will have good reason to back Uruguay in tomorrow's under-20 World Cup Final.
The rise of Paul Pogba is a constant irritation to Manchester United fans, who saw the Frenchman quit the club last summer to sign a deal with Juventus.
There is no getting away from it, he appears to be the real deal, and the fact he left United is a frustrating fact for supporters and no doubt staff at the club.
While they got on just fine without him last season, winning the Premier League title, Pogba lifted silverware of his own - the Serie A title.
He played a big role in this, scoring the highest number of goals at his age any player had for the club since Alessandro del Piero, and was even linked with a shock transfer for Real Madrid.
Pogba even earned a full international cap, and is in line for a World Cup squad place next summer for Les Bleus, but unlike England's approach, the top young players of his age were called back down into the under-20 squad for this summer's tournament.
And it has paid off, with Pogba captaining the side to the final, to be played tomorrow evening in Turkey.
Manchester United fans would be advised not to watch the favourites take on Uruguay for the prospect of having to watch Pogba lift the trophy will not be a pleasant sight.
Except they have a further vested interest in seeing the opposite outcome.
Step forward Guillermo Varela.
The 20-year-old remains as David Moyes' one and only signing this summer, having been brought in from Penarol, with the long-term aim of applying pressure on Rafael da Silva for the right-back spot.
He has been a regular starter for the Uruguyan under-20 side in their route to the final, helping them keep a clean sheet in their monumental quarter-final victory over favourites Spain.
The scene is set, a showdown between Manchester United starlets past and future. There is only going to be one and one team man being backed by supporters of the Red Devils.
The questions is just whether Varela can help his side pull off another upset and head to Manchester with an extra swagger in his step as a champion.
