Chelsea transfer news: Mourinho to switch attention to Turkish hitman

The latest transfer stories and rumours connected to Chelsea.

Chelsea could be set for a battle against Liverpool to sign Turkish striker Burak Yilmaz from Galatasaray.

The Blues are in the market for a striker and could go after the forward with deals for Edinson Cavani, Wayne Rooney and Luis Suarez all looking unlikely.

Jose Mourinho is thought to be keen on adding attacking firepower to his squad before the start of the new season and Yilmaz’s record last season saw him net over 30 goals for his current side.

Monaco seem poised to make a late swoop for Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel.

Mikel looked set to link up with former teammate Didier Drogba at Galatasaray but the big spending side in French football are reportedly very keen on adding the player to their squad.

Monaco have the ability to blow the Turkish team out of the water with a huge offer for the player which eclipses the £16 million deal Galatasaray are trying to work towards.

Teenage defender Luke Shaw is set to snub any chance of a move to Chelsea and stay with Southampton.

The Blues have been linked with the 17-year-old for some time as a possible long term replacement for Ashley Cole but it doesn’t seem any deal is going to happen quickly.

His form has also attracted the interest of current Premier League champions Manchester United although David Moyes is also expected to miss out on the player.
