Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld says he won’t immediately say yes to joining Norwich City.
The Liverpool target is available after a proposed move to Bayer Leverkusen fell through and Liverpool still have time to go after him, if Brendan Rodgers thinks he’s the man needed to come in and support the defence.
“I’m not saying ‘no’ in advance to Norwich, but I am certainly not saying ‘yes’ immediately,” he told radio station AT5.
The talented teenage midfielder broke into the first team last season under Brendan Rodgers and is thought to be keen on a move, which will see him playing regular football once the new season gets underway.
He signed a new contract with the club last October and Almeria face competition from Espanyol in the race to land the youngster.
Real Madrid will look to blow other sides out of the water with a £40 million offer for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.
Arsenal made a £30 million bid earlier in the week and Chelsea were also thought to be readying a large offer for the striker.
The move from the Spanish club could be as a result of them seemingly missing out on signing Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur for at least another season.
