A round up of the latest sports stories including England's Ashes fight back, Manuel Pellegrini and Froome leads Tour de France.

England head into the second day of the first Ashes Test match against Australia right in the game. England were bowled out for 215 on the first day due to poor decision making by the batsmen but late wickets from James Anderson and Steven Finn put the current holders right back in the game with Australia 75-4.

Everton have signed 19-year-old Barcelona forward Gerard Deulofeu on loan for the coming season. Several top clubs including Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur were linked with the teenager but it seems Roberto Martinez’s reputation for producing good football tipped the deal in Everton’s favour.

Chris Froome extended his overall lead in the Tour de France with a solid performance during the stage 11 time trial. He was able to gain two minutes on his closest challenger Alejandro Valverde who he now leads by close to three and a half minutes.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini says he feels no pressure to win the Premier League title at the club. The Chilean said he wasn’t at the club just to win trophies but to work with the younger players and transform all areas of the side heading into next season.

Pirelli will take softer tyres to the Hungarian Grand Prix than first planned. They were criticised for the choice of hard and medium tyres, which has now been changed to soft and medium ahead of the race. Pirelli said a decision to change tyre construction after the British Grand Prix meant softer rubber could be used.
