Mizuho International appoints Head of European Primary Debt Markets

Mizuho International has announced the appointment of Mark Wheatcroft as Head of European Primary Debt Markets and member of the Executive Committee.

Wheatcroft initially joined Mizuho International in February 2013 as Head of the EMEA Debt Syndicate Desk and SSA Syndicate Manager.

Commenting on the promotion, President and CEO Michiel de Jong said: 'Mark brings a wealth of talent and experience to the leadership team at MHI at a time when Mizuho is expanding its presence in the EMEA region. He is a sophisticated international operator with the proven experience to take the Mizuho International Primary Debt business to the next level'.

Commenting on his appointment, Wheatcroft said: 'I have been impressed with the focused build out of the capital markets platform at Mizuho and look forward to taking this to the next level. Mizuho has the financial stability and global client list to significantly grow its business in EMEA and I look forward to contributing to that success in the years to come'.

Wheatcroft joins Mizuho International from UBS where he was most recently Head of the EMEA Debt Syndicate. Mark has over 20 years of DCM experience and has held senior positions at various firms including ABN AMRO and SBC Warburg Dillon Read. Mark will be responsible for developing the primary business further, adding a sustainable SSA platform together with an Emerging Market business in close collaboration with both the Corporate Bank and the Fixed Income areas.
