The Uruguayan striker says the club know what he wants and while he is due to report back to Liverpool later this month, he has indicated that he is looking to move on from Anfield.
Suarez has been linked with high profile moves away from Liverpool throughout the summer, with Real Madrid interested and Arsenal having already made a huge offer for the forward.
“There are a few options and the club knows that. Are there any concrete options? No, so far there hasn't been any. There are two or three clubs who I think are willing and the club knows that,” he told Sport 890.
Suarez has made it clear that he wants to be playing Champions League football and while Arsenal could offer him that, there are a couple of key reasons that deal may never happen.
Arsenal means Suarez would stay in England where he has been very public in his negative views on the press and the way he is perceived by the general public.
It wouldn’t make sense for him to move down to London if he thinks the press have got it in for him, because if that’s the case, things wouldn’t change just because he’s switched Premier League clubs.
Secondly, it would be very naïve of Liverpool to sell to another English club, especially one that could hurt them.
One of those options Suarez talks about is likely to be Real Madrid and Liverpool will always sell him to a foreign side ahead of selling to another English club, even if they get a slightly smaller fee in the process.
“I have to present myself on the 21st with Liverpool for their tour of Australia but no one knows what could happen. I've already said what I have to say - a phone call one day can change all your plans,” added the striker.
That suggests that Suarez is aware of the possibility that talks between his representatives and interested parties could take place very quickly.
He is a professional so he is always going to be ready to go on that pre-season tour but if he’s not fully committed to Liverpool by that date, and his comments seem to suggest that he’s swaying, then there’s no point in him getting on the plane.
Suarez has always talked about his admiration and respect for Liverpool and he owes it to them to be straight up, because if they are going to lose him, he needs to confirm it and give the club the best possible chance of finding a suitable replacement before the start of the season.
What do you make of his comments? Does it sound like he’s already thinking ahead to his next move?
