European transfer talk: Featuring Thiago Silva, Cavani and Strootman

News and gossip from across the continent including Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City, West Ham, Everton and Liverpool transfer targets.

Edinson Cavani’s agent is in Paris finalising a move to Paris Saint-Germain from Napoli. The Uruguayan is expected to join Les Parisiens for a fee in the region of £55 million this summer.

He is set to sign a deal worth in the region of £8.5 million a season to play for the club in what will be one of the biggest transfers of 2013 so far.

Barcelona’s pursuit of Brazil captain Thiago Silva looks like nearing an end. Reports today suggest that Barca and PSG are talking after the player himself agreed personal terms on a five-year deal at the Nou Camp.

Schalke 04 have completed the signing of the highly rated German youngster Leon Goretzka from VfL Bochum. The 18-year-old has been the subject of a protracted transfer battle between the clubs which nearly saw Bochum take Schalke to court. However he is now officially a Schalke player.

Sevilla have agreed to sign Colombian striker Carlos Bacca from Belgian outfit Club Brugges for an undisclosed fee; believed to be in the £7 million region. Bacca had an excellent campaign in Belgium last term and is seen by many as a potential replacement for Premier League target Alvaro Negredo; who has intimated he wants to leave the club this summer.

Roma have been told that transfer target Kevin Strootman of PSV Eindhoven is not for sale:

"Roma have contacted us to tell us that they are interested in Kevin Strootman. We have told Roma that Strootman is not for sale, and only an important offer could convince us otherwise. In our opinion, Roma is the only club to be interested in Strootman, but they have made no offer."

Napoli have completed the signing of Jose Callejon from Real Madrid. The Spaniard arrived in Italy yesterday to put the final touches to a deal and today it has been announced he has signed a five-year deal with the Neapolitans.
