Liverpool have rejected a £30 million bid from Arsenal for striker Luis Suarez.
News broke last week that bookies had stopped taking bets on the possibility of Suarez going to Arsenal, following a flurry of large wagers in Spain.
However, the bid was immediately rejected by Liverpool as Brendan Rodgers wants to retain the 26-year-old who will start the season banned for the first six games if he stays at Anfield.
Liverpool made a bid of £7.7 million for Brazilian midfielder Jorginho over the weekend.
The Hellas Verona player has been linked with an Anfield switch as Brendan Rodgers looks to add one more creative attacking player to his squad before the start of the season.
However, a deal is far from done as AC Milan are also reportedly interested in signing the player and could spark a bidding war between themselves and Brendan Rodgers’ team.
Liverpool have agreed a deal to sell midfielder Jay Spearing to Blackburn Rovers.
Spearing will join the Championship outfit for a fee of around £1.5 million following a loan spell in the division with Bolton Wanderers last season.
Midfield overcrowding at Anfield has seen Spearing pushed down the pecking order under Brendan Rodgers who has subsequently allowed him to move on to further his career.
